Your Opportunity:
As part of your thesis, you will work on an exciting research project in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence for kitchen applications. The project focuses on the generation of AI-based skills for bi-manual robotic manipulation using tactile three-finger hands.
The focus of this work is the development of learning-based methods for bi-manual robotic manipulation using tactile three-finger hands. The goal is to enable robots to perform selected kitchen tasks that require coordinated use of both hands, such as stabilizing and manipulating everyday objects.
You will explore and evaluate suitable machine learning approaches, including imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and hybrid methods, with a particular focus on tactile feedback and robust interaction strategies.
All methods will be implemented and tested in NVIDIA IsaacSim and IsaacLab.
Your Profile:
- Studies in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI, or a comparable field
- Strong interest in robotic manipulation, machine learning, and simulation
- Good analytical and conceptual skills
- Independent and structured way of working
- Good communication skills in English
- Experience with Python, simulation environments, machine learning, or robot control is a plus
