JOB PURPOSE
The job holder is responsible for the development of new functionality and the support and maintenance of existing functionality across B2C and B2B SAP Commerce Cloud projects and quality assurance of software, in an agile development process.
EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
Technical skills
• 3+ years of hands-on SAP Commerce experience across B2C (and ideally B2B), including Storefront Accelerator and OCC API development.
• Familiarity with SAP Cloud Portal.
• Experience with the monitoring tools Kibana and Dynatrace.
• SAP Composable Storefront experience is a plus.
• 5+ years of backend development with Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, and Spring Security.
• Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control.
• Strong technical documentation skills.
• Background working in agile, product-oriented teams.
Behavioral skills
• Ability to quickly grasp complex issues and explain them to others.
• Ability to develop viable solutions to technical problems.
Educational
• Bachelor or HNC equivalent degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related IT field.
Other
• Fluent business English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent knowledge of agile project methods.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
Development of IT solutions
• Responsible for the end-to-end development and quality assurance of SAP Commerce Cloud components, most of which are highly complex, in order to ensure high standards of functionality, reliability, and performance to meet business requirements.
• The job holder contributes to the design standards. He or she manages the development, testing, and maintenance of SAP Commerce backend components and OCC APIs to meet product and integration requirements.
• Establish and implement advanced quality assurance measures in accordance with industry standards and best practices to ensure that software components are rigorously tested and fully comply with specific requirements.
• Promote collaboration between teams to deliver robust solutions and optimize application functionality, service quality, and integration to improve overall product performance.
• Provide and promote standards, guidelines, and best practices for the assigned SAP Commerce products.
• In the area of IT products and services: Support, advise, and empower the IT Product Team to define, create, and deliver high-quality SAP Commerce solutions.
Software architecture
• Support and advise on the introduction of architectural frameworks and design patterns that can contribute to long-term strategic goal achievement, including the transition towards a decoupled, OCC-based architecture.
Project and demand management
• Monitoring the creation of requirements from a technical perspective and translating these sometimes complex business requirements into actionable work packages.
• Conducting thorough technical evaluations of new solutions and ensuring that they are compatible with other IT products and the specified architecture, among other things.
• Proactively communicating project progress, risks, and obstacles to stakeholders.
• Creating documentation for developed software or test components that can also be used as a reference for the team and for knowledge exchange.
Service management and operation
• Participate in service, monitoring application health and responding to incidents to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of the SAP Commerce production environments.
