Development and operations of the IT product

• Responsible for the IT product life cycle and efficient operation

• Manage and coordinate the Development + Operations value streams for an IT product

• Development of a concrete product vision and its transfer to the IT delivery/product team

• Representation of stakeholder, customer, and user interests in the team

• Coordinating the product content and the product backlog with the business counterpart and the IT architect(s) involved

• Prioritization of the product backlog in coordination with the business

• Responsibility for the content of the product team's deliveries - also in terms of time, quality, and costs

• Supporting the teams in the development of future IT product generations

• Apply explicit value criteria (business impact, user experience, risk/cost reduction) for prioritization

• Creation of work elements in the product backlog

• Elaboration of the requirements & specifications to be fulfilled

• Together with the IT product team: planning the development sprints, formulating the sprint goals and implementing the sprints

• Acceptance of the work results in the sprint and participation in product reviews with the stakeholders/business counterparts

• Define and monitor non-functional requirements and SLOs/SLIs (e.g., data freshness, pipeline success rate, query latency, availability) for the product

• Ensure CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, incident and problem management practices are in place for reliable operations

• Manage product interfaces and versioning for data consumers (schemas/contracts, semantic models, APIs), coordinating breaking changes

Stakeholder Management

• Acceptance and preparation of stakeholder requirements (e.g. business counterparts, domain lead)

• Implementing stakeholder feedback, responding to change requests and reported errors

• Participation in the presentation of the current status and preview of upcoming content to stakeholders

• Continuous dialogue with stakeholders on development progress and priorities

• Maintain a transparent roadmap and communicate trade-offs, dependencies, and release plans

• Collaborate with the Data & AI Governance product on standards adoption and with IT Architects on guardrails; escalate exceptions as needed (without owning governance)

Coordination and participation at organizational level

• Participation in the continuous adaptation of agile working methods

• Responsibility for the delivery capability, commitment and continuous development and effectiveness of the assigned team(s) as well as their development and continuous improvement of the teams (together with the Agile Master)

• Selection, commissioning (together with Purchasing and, if applicable, People Lead) and technical coordination and management of external service providers in the teams and feedback to IT Vendor Management on their working methods and performance

• Responsibility for the financial and capacity planning of the product as well as ensuring compliance (e.g. licences, security, data protection) and successful adoption of the solution by the customer (e.g. through change management)

• Apply FinOps practices for data workloads (cost allocation, forecasting, optimization), balancing performance, reliability, and cost

• Ensure execution against governance, security, and privacy standards defined by the separate Data & AI Governance product (application, not definition)

Technology Scouting and Research

• Analyzing specialist literature, conference visits and trade fairs, etc.

• Evaluate and pilot platform/tooling improvements (e.g., orchestration, observability, lakehouse features, performance/cost optimizations) aligned with architecture guardrails and governance standards; provide input when standards need updates

General

• Active collaboration with the Agile Master to continuously improve agile collaboration

• Active cooperation with the domain lead in order to be able to take overarching interests into account in your own work

• Create transparency, e.g. with regard to tasks, work content/topics, workload, costs

• Collaboration in personnel development (talent development, succession planning, etc.)
