JOB PURPOSE
The IT Architect plays a key role in delivering end-to-end solutions of the highest quality. They assist in refining requirements until they meet the defined criteria. They create IT solution architectures with low to medium complexity on a global level to ensure that the defined business requirements are met by the IT solutions in their area of responsibility and that a uniform IT target architecture is ensured based on the relevant roadmaps and IT strategy. The role has a specific focus on Artificial Intelligence-related solutions and requires the ability to understand, shape, and assess AI architectures in line with enterprise architecture, security, governance, integration, and data requirements.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
•Proactive improvement of IT architecture according to defined specifications. Collaboration in the Enterprise Architecture chapter and consideration of the specifications defined there.
•Supporting the evaluation and selection process for external partners or suppliers in cooperation with the purchasing department.
IT Architecture and Innovation Management
Supports all activities to promote the continuous development and improvement of IT products through both incremental and innovative technological changes in their area of expertise, in accordance with specifications:
•Defining a flexible and future-oriented solution architecture (application architecture, integration architecture, data architecture) based on the given business requirements and the overall target architecture.
•Ensures that the solution meets non-functional requirements (security, performance, load) and has the expected quality and stability.
•Responsible for validating technical solutions delivered by service providers for handover to operations.
•Supporting project management in the areas of project structure planning, cost estimation, resource planning, supplier and partner selection.
•Supporting external partners and suppliers to ensure IT compliance, expected quality, and expected deadlines.
•Acting as a general "technology ambassador" in the project and program context.
•Define and evaluate AI solution architectures, including AI platform capabilities, integration patterns, data flows, model/service consumption, security controls, governance guardrails and operational requirements such as monitoring, scalability, and lifecycle management.
IT Demand Management
•Examining all new incoming requirements in accordance with specifications, proposing a high-level solution, and providing an initial rough estimate of the costs and resources required to implement the requirement. Ensuring that requirements are consistent with the IT strategy and roadmap.
Enterprise Architecture
•Support and advise the company on the creation/definition of a suitable, consistent, and feasible business architecture in coordination with the Enterprise Architecture chapter.
EXPERTISE AND SKILLS
•In-depth knowledge and experience in the definition and design of IT application architectures, including interfaces and/or IT infrastructure architecture.
•In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art IT technologies.
•English: fluent business English, both spoken and written.
•Proven knowledge of Artificial Intelligence architectures, including practical understanding of AI platforms, LLM-based solutions, integration patterns, data foundations, security, governance, and operational considerations for AI-enabled products.
•Ability to demonstrate hands-on or project-based experience in shaping, evaluating, or implementing AI-related architectures, ideally in an enterprise environment.
•Ability to communicate openly and clearly with business partners, external service providers, and the internal organization.
•Analytical and structured approach to work and the ability to explain and discuss complex issues logically and simply.
•Bachelor's degree or comparable qualification.
•Three to five years of experience in IT architecture.
